COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Upcoming Women’s Club
Sponsored Events!

September 2010

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT – Once again, the Women’s Club is gathering new items of clothing for the Canyon Pointe’s school nurse’s stockroom.  Patti Ardoin, our Community Service Director, says they are reportedly in need again of the underwear and t-shirts sizes 8-12 like we provided last year.  She mentioned they could also use a few size 14, as well as smaller sizes.  All donations welcome!

CHRISTMAS in NOVEMBER SALES EVENT – Discussions are underway for another sales event at the clubhouse for the neighborhood Women in Business.  Please come to the August 16th Women’s Club meeting if you would like to help plan this event or to offer comments or suggestions for making this event a success!  You can contact Angela at angela0922@sbcglobal.net for more information or you would like to volunteer or participate.

TRASHCANS, TRASHCANS, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!

As you ride through the subdivision the one thing that detracts from the curb appeal of the neighborhood is trashcans that are visible from the street. Many times they are stacked by the garage doors. Sometimes they are left at the curb for days after trash pick-up. Let’s get together and go get your trashcans and place them behind your fence, in the garage or somewhere in the backyard. If everyone did this, the neighborhood would take another step in making the area look better.

Please, BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR!!!

New Tomball ISD High School in NorthPointe -

The Tomball school district has purchased 126-acres of land in the southern portion of the district. The property is located near North Pointe Boulevard and Shaw Road, and is adjacent to a 67-acre tract of land the district already owns. For more information click here. Additional information on the new Tomball Memorial High School in the NorthPointe area, including a preliminary concept design and a constuction schedule can be found here.

Neighborhood Watch Program -

We’ve had thirteen of our neighbors volunteer to be Block Captains. We would love to have more neighbors step up to watch over our neighborhood. Currently, the Block Captains are getting to know their neighbors and collecting information (i.e. names, address, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses). We will be using this information for 1) to build a Yahoo Group for our neighborhood, so that we can quickly disseminate information as needed and 2) provide our Block Captains with the ability to reach a neighbor quickly in case of an emergency.

Want to help protect your neighborhood?

If you’re interested in volunteering to be a Block Captain for a section/street/cul-de-sac, please contact Debbie Parker at 281-255-2852 or dparker39@att.net. This will take very little of your time once you have collected your neighbors’ information. We are just asking that you keep your eyes and ears open and help out your neighbors.

Security for the Villages of NorthPointe

Chaparral has worked in conjunction with MUD 281 to contract a dedicated deputy from the Precinct 4 Constable's office to patrol our neighborhood. Deputy Miller patrols our streets 28 hours per week and can be reached at 281-376-3472

Architectural Control/Review Committee Notice

Homeowners MUST have ACC approval before beginning any projects – i.e. fences, pools, gazebos, roofs, etc., - basically any structure outside the home. An ACC application must be submitted and approved BEFORE any work is to be started. If the ACC application is denied and the work has already been completed, the homeowner will have to remove the structure. For an ACC application click here.
